Getting myself ready to go anywhere is quite a challenge with a 6-month-old baby. It is especially difficult because I am – admittedly – a girly girl. I like makeup (a lot – I worked for Clinique prior to my current career) and I take pride in my appearance – not just for me, but for my husband. I feel it is extremely important for women to put effort into how they present themselves – especially after becoming mothers. It matters in terms of your daily interactions at work and overall well-being. I can’t think of any woman who didn’t feel a little sexier after applying the perfect shade of lipstick.
I know the struggle of trying to look like a million bucks when you are exhausted and feel like 50 cents. I get it. Don’t worry, I took the crazy career mom schedule into account when I selected my top five beauty hacks!
After all, I am a career mom, too. I feel your pain and I also know how much better it feels to quickly apply a few awesome beauty finds – and look like I spent a lot longer on my makeup than I actually did.
After test driving several products, I have narrowed down my list to the top five beauty hacks for career moms:
This stuff is amazeballs! I apply this after moisturizer and before concealer and powder foundation. It keeps my makeup from oxidizing too much, which tends to happen a lot in the Florida heat. It will keep your makeup looking great all day, even with your hectic mommy schedule.
This powder foundation is absolutely wonderful. It is so easy to apply and people always think I am wearing liquid foundation when I wear this. It is that good! It is a little pricey, but well worth the investment with my busy schedule.
This concealer is awesome for everything – under eye, blemishes, anything. PLUS, it is waterproof! I cannot tell you how great that is for me. I wear contact lenses, so that is one reason. The other reason….well…..I tend to cry a lot thanks to postpartum hormones – especially when my son goes to daycare. It is a lifesaver to wear concealer that doesn’t come off just because I shed a few mommy tears!
This brow pencil looks natural and is foolproof to apply in a hurry. I use this brow pencil every day, and often receive compliments. It defines without looking too harsh. Treat yo’self.
I use this lip liner every day. It is natural yet defining enough to look great with several different neutral shades of lipstick. Having one interchangeable waterproof lip liner will seriously change your life.
These products have made my beauty routine so much more streamlined, and I hope they do the same for you! What are the best beauty products you have tried? Please share in the comments below!
